Lincoln’s Assassination

 

President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on Good Friday, 14th April 1865, just as the Civil War was ending.  Only 5 days earlier, General Robert E Lee had surrendered the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia to Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia.
